To graduate, students must complete both university-required courses and Kulliyyah core courses, divided into Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1, focusing on pre-clinical training in Years 1 and 2, includes Basic Medical and Dental Sciences courses assessed in Professional I and II Examinations. Dental courses like Dental Public Health, Conservative Dentistry, and Prosthetic Dentistry extend throughout the program.<\/p><p>Phase 2, in Years 3 to 5, transitions to clinical training, with core dental courses and rotations in specialties like Paediatric Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Research components in Year 4 culminate in a presentation at the Dental Student Scientific Conference in Year 5, alongside Integrated Dental Practice courses preparing students for patient care. Students are taught in a semester \/ block system and there are four blocks in a year. In order to graduate, students\u2019 need to complete both the university required courses and Kulliyyah core courses. For Kulliyyah core courses, they are divided into two phases; Phase 1 and Phase 2.<\/p><p>Phase 1 focuses on the pre-clinical training. It consists of Basic Medical and Dental Sciences courses which will be taught in Year 1 and Year 2 of studies. The courses are Normal Structure &amp; Function of Human Cell; Tissue &amp; Body System, Body Reactions to Physical, Chemical And Biological Agents; Normal Response To Diseased State &amp; Basic Pharmacology; Craniofacial &amp; Human Biology; and Oral\u00a0 Biology for Year 1 and Cardiovascular &amp; Respiratory systems; Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary and Hematopoietic systems; Endocrine, Genitourinary, Locomotor systems; Head &amp; Neck and Nervous systems and Dental Material for Year 2.<\/p><p>All of these courses will be assessed in the Professional I Examination for Year 1 and Professional II Examination for Year 2. There are also dental courses that will be taught in Year 2 which are Dental Public Health, Conservative Dentistry and Prosthetic Dentistry; and these courses will continue until Year 5.<\/p><p>Phase 2 is a clinical phase which will be taught in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 where the students will start treating patient. There are certain clinical requirements that the students need to fulfil before they are eligible to sit for Professional III and IV Examination. All dental core courses will start in Year 3; Paediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology.\u00a0 General Medicine and General Surgery courses will also be taught in Year 3 and they will be assessed in Professional III Examination at the end of Year 3. In Year 4, apart from dental core courses, the students will be introduced to research and there will be research findings presentation in Year 5 during Dental Student Scientific Conference.\u00a0 The research findings report also need to be submitted. In Year 5, the Integrated Dental Practice courses will be introduced to students so that they are ready to treat the public.
