Clinical Services

Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery is a procedure to remove the lens of the eye and, in most cases, replace it with artificial lens.

We are aim to provide a comprehensive cataract assessment as well as treatment to our patients.

Laser Refractive Surgery

Founded in 2009, LASIK IIUM is a laser refractive surgery service under IIUM Eye Specialist Clinic. We are the first tertiary-based institution to provide this service in Malaysia.

Our main goal is to provide services that are par with the international standard which are also tailored to our local needs.

Implantable Phakic Contact Lens

The Implantable Phakic Contact Lens (IPCL) is a special contact lens, which is implanted between the iris (coloured part of the eye) and the natural lens of the eye.

The main function of the IPCL is to provide high quality vision without depending on glasses or traditional contact lens.

IPCL is for everyone, aiding those with short/ long sightedness, astigmatism and even prebyopia. This hybrid lens is made out of animal-free acrylic material, making it suitable for everyone.

Corneal Cross Linking

Corneal cross-linking is a treatment for an eye problem called Keratoconus.

In this condition, the front part of your eye, called the cornea, thins out and get weaker over time. This makes it bulge into a cone shape which can distort your vision and make it hard to see.

Corneal cross-linking is the only treatment that can stop progressive keratoconus from getting worse. And it may help you avoid a corneal transplant, which is major surgery.
