Pandan, Kuantan<\/strong>, experienced a day filled with hands-on\r\n    learning, active participation and discovery during the\r\n    <strong>Program Murid Sihat dan Selamat<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n    The programme was a collaborative community initiative led by the\r\n    <strong>Department of Professional Nursing Studies, Kulliyyah of Nursing,\r\n    IIUM<\/strong>, under the leadership of\r\n    <strong>Dr Muzaitul Akma Mustapa Kamal Basha<\/strong>, following requests\r\n    and discussions with SK Pandan.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"kon-murid-text\">\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        The initiative was supported by members of the\r\n        <strong>Clinical Skills Centre (CSC)<\/strong> and the\r\n        <strong>Department of Critical Care Nursing, Kulliyyah of Nursing,\r\n        IIUM<\/strong>, and further strengthened through the support of community\r\n        partners, including <strong>Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS)\r\n        Paya Besar and Lepar stretching session led by\r\n        <strong>Br Muhammad Syazwan Rostam<\/strong>, a fourth-year student from\r\n        the Kulliyyah of Nursing. The activity immediately lifted the pupils\u2019\r\n        spirits and created an energetic and welcoming atmosphere for the\r\n        programme.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        Excited chatter and laughter filled the area as the pupils followed the\r\n        simple movements and enjoyed the sense of togetherness. The programme\r\n        then moved into an introduction to basic emergency assistance through\r\n        an engaging session delivered by\r\n        <strong>Dr Muzaitul Akma Mustapa Kamal Basha<\/strong> and\r\n        <strong>Dr Hasanah Pairoh<\/strong>.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        The session was deliberately kept short, simple and interactive to suit\r\n        the pupils\u2019 level of understanding. Pupils were encouraged to ask\r\n        questions, share their existing knowledge and consider how they should\r\n        respond during common emergencies.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<!-- =========================================================\r\n     HANDS-ON LEARNING\r\n========================================================= -->\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"kon-murid-section-title\">\r\n    Hands-On Exposure Through Learning Stations\r\n<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"kon-murid-text\">\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        Following the introductory briefing, the pupils were divided into ten\r\n        groups and rotated through <strong>10 hands-on learning stations<\/strong>.\r\n        Each station was designed to introduce a specific health or emergency\r\n        skill in an age-appropriate and practical manner.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<!-- =========================================================\r\n     IMAGES 2, 3 &amp; Wound Care<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Introducing basic bandaging techniques and simple wound management.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Splinting &amp; Arm Sling<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Learning simple techniques to support an injured limb before\r\n            professional help is available.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Choking Management<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Introducing appropriate actions to take when someone experiences\r\n            airway obstruction.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Chest Compressions &amp; Introduction to CPR<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Giving pupils supervised exposure to chest compressions using\r\n            training manikins.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Handwashing<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Reinforcing effective handwashing techniques as an essential\r\n            component of infection prevention.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Nosebleed Management<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Teaching pupils the correct response and positioning for managing\r\n            a nosebleed.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"kon-murid-skill\">\r\n        <strong>Early Burn Management<\/strong>\r\n        <span>\r\n            Introducing simple and safe early responses to minor burn injuries.\r\n        <\/span>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<!-- =========================================================\r\n     FEATURE\r\n========================================================= -->\r\n\r\n<div class=\"kon-murid-feature-panel\">\r\n\r\n    <h3>\r\n        Learning by Doing\r\n    <\/h3>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        Every station was facilitated by lecturers and clinical instructors\r\n        from the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM, assisted by volunteers from\r\n        Universiti Islam Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah (UniPSAS) and members of GPMS\r\n        Paya Besar. The pupils were not passive listeners. They practised\r\n        bandaging one another, performed chest compressions on training\r\n        manikins and demonstrated the correct way to manage a nosebleed under\r\n        supervision. This hands-on approach made the learning experience\r\n        practical, memorable and enjoyable. Teachers observed with pride as\r\n        the pupils demonstrated enthusiasm, confidence and curiosity throughout\r\n        the learning stations.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<!-- =========================================================\r\n     EVALUATION\r\n========================================================= -->\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"kon-murid-section-title\">\r\n    Evaluation, Quiz and Joyful Learning\r\n<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"kon-murid-text\">\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        Before the closing session, an evaluation and short quiz were conducted\r\n        to assess the pupils\u2019 understanding of the skills introduced throughout\r\n        the day. Designed in an interactive and enjoyable format, the activity\r\n        allowed pupils to answer questions, demonstrate selected techniques and\r\n        reflect on their newly acquired knowledge.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        The children participated enthusiastically, laughing and cheering one\r\n        another on. For many pupils, the quiz became one of the highlights of\r\n        the programme because it combined learning with play.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        Teachers and facilitators observed that the pupils were able to recall\r\n        key information and respond confidently. We truly look forward to more initiatives like this in the future.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"kon-murid-text\">\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        A major highlight of the day was the signing of a\r\n        <strong>partnership agreement between SK Pandan and the Kulliyyah of\r\n        Nursing, IIUM<\/strong>, symbolising the beginning of a sustainable\r\n        partnership between the two institutions.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        The partnership agreement was signed by the Headmaster of SK Pandan and\r\n        <strong>Dr Abdul Alif Abd Hamid, Deputy Dean of Student Development and\r\n        Community Engagement, Kulliyyah of Nursing<\/strong>.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>\r\n        The signing was witnessed by\r\n        <strong>En.
