COSMETIC CREATIONS: A COMPREHENSIVE COSMETIC FORMULATION WORKSHOP – 14 & 15 AUGUST 2024

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy recently organized a two-day workshop focused on the cosmetics formulation.

The first and second day morning session featured series of informative talks led by academicians (Assoc. Prof. Dr Hazrina Ab Hadi, Prof. Dr. Farahidah Mohamed & Dr. Mohd Hamzah Mohd Nasir) and industry experts (IKA Sdn. Bhd. & Naman Technology Sdn. Bhd.) who covered various aspects of cosmetic science, trends, best practices, regulatory compliance, fish embryo toxicity testing on cosmetics products and the exposure to all participants on the equipment application and skin testing.

The afternoon sessions on both days were dedicated to hands-on activities, allowing participants to learn on the cosmetics formulation by creating their own lip balm and gel moisturiser. This practical experience provided valuable insights into formulation techniques. Overall, the event was a comprehensive exploration of the cosmetics field, blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
