KOP POSTDOCTORAL TALK 2026

Sharing Knowledge, Expanding Perspectives in Pharmacoepidemiology

The Kulliyyah of Pharmacy (KOP), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), successfully organised the KOP Postdoctoral Talk today, Monday, 10 August 2026, at the Main Meeting Room, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy.

The session featured an insightful presentation by Dr. Indre Treciokiene from Vilnius University, Lithuania, entitled:

 “Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Utilization Research in Lithuania: From Access to Outcomes”

The talk provided valuable insights into the field of pharmacoepidemiology and drug utilisation research, particularly the relationship between access to medicines, medication use and health outcomes in Lithuania.

The session also served as a meaningful platform for knowledge sharing, academic exchange and international collaboration, bringing together KOP staff and the speaker to exchange perspectives and experiences in pharmaceutical research.

KOP would like to express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Indre Treciokiene for sharing her expertise and valuable insights with the KOP community. 

 May this academic engagement continue to strengthen international research networks and foster greater collaboration between IIUM and Vilnius University.

Qualifying Examination to Practice Pharmacy, July 2024

The Kulliyyah of Pharmacy organized the Qualifying Examination to Practice Pharmacy, known as Peperiksaan Kelayakan untuk Mengamal Farmasi (PKUMF), on July 31, 2024. The Malaysian Pharmacy Board has mandated passing the PKUMF as a prerequisite for registration as a pharmacist. Therefore, third- and fourth-year KOP students took this examination as part of their preparation for registration upon graduation.

SHARING SESSION ON PHARMACY SCHOOL ASSESSMENT METHODS IN MONASH UNIVERSITY

Time                  :             10:00 am – 11:00 am

The Academic Unit will conduct a sharing session with Monash University to share their expertise on how they implement both continuous and final assessments methods.

The invited speaker is Dr. Athirah Bakhtiar, BPharm Coordinator and Accreditation Chair from Monash University Malaysia.

  • The conduct of continuous assessment methods final examination
  • Implementation of compulsory pass for both continuous and final examination
  • Remedial methods used for students who failed continuous and/or final examination
  • Challenges of implementation of compulsory pass for both continuous and final examination
