Alhamdulillah, the Professorial Lecture entitled “Redefining Herbal Remedies: A Journey from Reductionist to Holistic Approach” by Prof. Dr. Alfi Khatib (KOP) concluded successfully on 5th December 2024.
Held in a hybrid format at the Grand Hall, OCD and streamed live on the ITD IIUM Kuantan YouTube channel, the session drew a diverse audience of healthcare professionals, academics, and students.

KOP Research Talk on “Revolutionizing patient care and outcomes: Harnessing big dataanalytics with millions of patient datasets”
The Research Office, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, and the Sustainable Initiatives toward Healthy Living and Environment Flagship recently hosted the KOP Research Talk, an insightful session on how big data analytics is transforming patient care and outcomes. Held on the 29th of August 2024, the event focused on the potential of leveraging millions of patient datasets to revolutionize the healthcare industry.
The session, conducted online via Zoom, featured a presentation by the esteemed Prof. Dr. Che Suraya bt. Hj. Mohd. Zin from the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, IIUM. Prof. Dr. Che Suraya shared her expertise and insights on how big data is reshaping healthcare practices and improving patient outcomes.
The talk was well-received by participants, who had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in healthcare data analytics. It provided valuable knowledge for healthcare professionals and researchers interested in advancing patient care through innovative technology.
KOP Research Talk: Role of Flavonoids in the Management of Diabetes Mellitus
The Office of Responsible Research and Innovation at the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy organized a Research Talk on July 25, 2024. The event featured an invited speaker, Prof. Dr. Qamar Uddin Ahmed, who delivered a talk titled “Role of Flavonoids in the Management of Diabetes Mellitus.”
The insightful presentation covered the potential benefits and mechanisms of flavonoids in managing diabetes, highlighting recent research findings and clinical implications. The talk was well-received and attended by a diverse audience, including academic staff, non-academic staff, and postgraduate students, who actively participated in the discussion and Q&A session.
