The Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) proudly congratulates Dr. Haziqah Zulaikha Aris on receiving the Anugerah Refleksi Amalan HEPA SIGMA 2026 (Anugerah Perspektif Inovatif) at the Simposium Agenda Pemerkasaan Mahasiswa Kebangsaan (SIGMA) 2026. Her award-winning paper, “Dari Akar Tempatan ke Capaian Global: Pengalaman UIAM Memperkasa Kesukarelawanan Pendidikan Pelajar”, presents an innovative framework for strengthening student activities and holistic development through the experience of IIUM’s English Language Teaching Students’ Association (ELTSA). The paper highlights ELTSA’s journey from local educational outreach through the TESL School Adventure (TESSA) series across Malaysian schools to cross-border educational mobility through Wings of Language (WOL) in Indonesia. The framework demonstrates how student volunteering can evolve beyond ad-hoc activities into structured, sustainable, and impactful educational initiatives. Using ELTSA as a case study, the paper offers a practical framework for universities to strengthen student development through leadership, experiential learning, community engagement, international exposure, and educational diplomacy. The achievement reflects KOED’s commitment to fostering innovative student development practices that create meaningful impact from local communities to the global stage.
