We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the International Conference on Sustainable Aquatic Science and Technology (ICOSAST 2025), held on 4 August 2025 (Monday) at AC Hotel by Marriott, Kuantan, Pahang. The ceremony was graced by the Guest of Honour, YB Dato’ Sri Ir. Haji @Mohd. Soffi bin Tan Sri Abd. Razak, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pertanian, Industri Asas Tani, Bioteknologi dan Pendidikan Negeri Pahang, representing YAB Menteri Besar Pahang, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail. We were also honoured by the presence of Prof. Dr. Samsul Draman, Member of the IIUM Board of Governors representing the Rector, Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar; YBhg. Dato’ Haji Azahari bin Haji Othman, Deputy Director‑General (Development), Jabatan Perikanan Malaysia (DOF) ; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ariffin Kaderi, Deputy Campus Director of IIUM Kuantan representing Office of the Campus Director, IIUM Kuantan; Prof. Dr. Kamaruzzaman Yunus, Dean of the Kulliyyah of Science; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Normawaty Mohd Noor, Chairman of ICOSAST 2025. A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIUM and the Jabatan Perikanan Malaysia (DOF), marking a strengthened partnership toward advancing aquatic science and sustainable resource development.
ICOSAST 2025, organized by INOCEM at IIUM Kuantan, carries the theme “Aquatic Science for Synergy: A One Health Approach to Aquatic Sustainability and Resilience.” Over the next two days, the conference will provide a platform for exploring crucial topics, including aquatic pollution, disease, climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable aquaculture, through impactful presentations and workshops. We warmly welcome all participants, researchers, and industry professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaborations throughout this event.
