Harmful Algal Bloom Early Monitoring System project in Kuala Kurau, Perak lead by Dr Normawaty and Dr Aimimuliani aims to detect and mitigate harmful algal blooms in local waters. Using advanced monitoring technology and data analysis, we work to safeguard the aquatic ecosystem and protect the health of both marine life and the surrounding community.

Dr Firdaus and Dr Najatul Su Ad research focuses on metagenomics analysis of bacterial communities in the water and sediments of the Pahang River. Through genetic profiling, we aim to understand the diversity of these communities and their functional roles in the river ecosystem. This study contributes to our knowledge of river health and water quality management.

Our project facilitates the transfer of knowledge regarding the breeding and larvae rearing of Sutchi Catfish (Patin Siam) among fish farmers in Temerloh, Pahang. We empower local farmers with expertise, promoting sustainable aquaculture practices and enhancing economic opportunities.

The Marine Science Department actively engages with local communities through educational outreach, beach cleanups, and conservation initiatives. We aim to raise awareness, promote environmental stewardship, and foster a deeper connection between communities and their coastal ecosystems, working together for a sustainable marine environment.
