The Malay Language Department focuses on the development of the Malay language which covers aspects of grammar, linguistics, communication, research, and entrepreneurship. All these clusters are highlighted based on teaching and learning activities in the classroom, programs organized under courses, research, and publications. The department also focuses on the literary and translation. Our aim is to establish graduates with high degree of proficiency in Malay Language and excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal communication skills to compliment balanced language development and needs of the job market.

 At present, the department has 9 senior lecturers comprising of Associate Professor, Assistant Professors and Academic Fellow.

 Currently, the Malay Language department offers Bachelor of Malay Language for International Communication.
