Kulliyyah of information and Communication Technology

The Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology (KICT) was established in November 2001. From that moment, KICT has made necessary moves to realize its vision, which is to produce knowledge workers equipped with ICT skills and knowledge (‘Ilm) and the Consciousness of God (Taqwa).

This Kulliyyah is the combination of the Department of Information Systems (DIS)Department of Computer Sciences (DCS), and Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS). All programmes in the Kulliyyah are designed for integration of Islamic knowledge and ICT.

The Kulliyyah has the mission to promote collaboration with other universities and industries, both nationally and internationally, in teaching, learning, research, and consultancy, to establish a center of excellence for each department in KICT, and to advance research and development in creating a value-based information system.

KICT also aspires to initiate and develop more rigorous programmes in the area of information and communication technology. It places a great emphasis on providing excellent programmes and teaching resources in order to enhance the quality of learning and research. It is expected that students will find a unique set of opportunities available to study for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Kulliyyah of Engineering (KOE)

With the vision to be a “A Global Centre of Innovative Engineering Education and Research with Values and Professional Ethics”, the Kulliyyah of Engineering provides quality engineering education in fundamental and specialized fields, as well as providing our students with a broad base in management, ethics, and humanities so that they graduate prepared to serve the emerging needs of our society.

The Kulliyyah offers an integrated and comprehensive education while incorporating the Islamic concept of tawhid, teaching students to unify the spiritual and physical aspects of life into a harmonious continuity. Besides being professionally qualified and competent, our graduates will acquire spiritual, intellectual, moral and ethical characteristics, and develop a harmonious relationship with Allah (the creator), their fellow human beings and their natural environment.

Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) 

The Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) was established on the 1st June 1996 to fulfill the need for professional in the built environment. The Kulliyyah offers unique programs geared towards integrating Islamic values and the tawhidic educational approach in the built environment profession. KAED aims at pioneering the integration of the Islamic World View into both teaching and training of emerging professionals within the built environment professions by applying the tawhidic educational approach. This will not only produce graduates who will fulfill the general requirements of the built environment industry, but who will also become competent in Research and Development (R & D) activities.

Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS)


The Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) was one of the first two faculties established when the International Islamic University Malaysia began operations in 1983.  There are currently four academic departments within the Kulliyyah:

 Department of Economics,
 Department of Business Administration,
 Department of Accounting,
 Department of Finance. 

Our vision is to be a leading faculty of international excellence in teaching, research and consulting services integrating conventional economics, accounting, business and finance including Islamic banking and finance-related areas imbued with values and morality based on revealed sources of knowledge.

Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL)

AHMAD IBRAHIM KULLIYYAH OF LAW (AIKOL)

The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws was previously known as the ‘Kulliyyah of Laws’. It was one of the two Kulliyyahs formed at the inception of the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1983.

The Kulliyyah started with 3 teaching staff and the first batch of undergraduate students of 59. The first programme offered was Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)(Honours). In 1986, the Kulliyyah started its Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) and Ph.D programmes. In 1989, the double degree programme LL.B (Shari’ah)(Honours) was launched.

In 2000, the Kulliyyah was proclaimed as Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), in honour of the late Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Ahmad bin Mohamed Ibrahim, the founding father of the Kulliyyah.

Kulliyyah of Education (KOED)

The Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) is one of Malaysia’s top education schools, delivering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as Islamic Education, Quranic Education, Arabic Language, English Language, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration, Educational Management, Counseling, Moral Education and Instructional Technology.
