The Department of Arabic Language and Literature offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that deal with various aspects of the Arabic language, linguistics and literature. As Arabic is the language of the Qur’an, the programmes offered by the Department are imbued with Islamic values and are closely linked with the intellectual tradition of the Revealed Knowledge discipline.

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature offers a comprehensive range of postgraduate programmes. At the doctoral level, students may pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in either Arabic Linguistic Studies or Arabic Literary Studies. At the master’s level, the department offers the Master of Human Sciences with specialisations in Arabic as a Second Language, Arabic Linguistic Studies, and Arabic Literary Studies, catering to both disciplinary depth and pedagogical application.
At the undergraduate level, the department offers the Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Honours) in Arabic Language, Literature, and Linguistics.
