Kuala Lumpur, 15 October 2024. The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) mooting team proudly represents Malaysia at the prestigious 19th LAWASIA International Moot Competition (International Rounds) 2024, reaching the Quarter Finals and placing 5th overall out of 16 teams across Asia. Held at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), the competition featured the top national teams from their respective countries, showcasing the highest level of legal advocacy in the region.
The IIUM team distinguished itself by winning the Best Memorial award, a testament to their exceptional legal research, analysis, and written submissions. In addition, Mohamad Aiman Ilhami ranked as the 8th Best Oralist, while Nur Farah Khaleeda and Aiman Firdaus were ranked 18th and 19th, respectively, for their outstanding oral advocacy. The competitors face rigorous examination from a panel of prominent judges, including distinguished lawyers and arbitrators from around the world, further enhancing the competition’s prestige.
