AIKOL ENGAGES WITH THE FATONI UNIVERSITY AND THE COMMUNITY AT KAMPUNG NAM BO PATTANI

Pattani, 3 March 2024. A half-day seminar on Islamic law in Malaysia and Thailand: Between Ideals and Challenges in the Digital Era was held at the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Laws at Fatoni University (FTU), Pattani, on 29th February 2024. The seminar is a collaboration between the Department of Islamic Law, AIKOL and the Department of Shariah and Laws, Faculty of Islamic Studies, FTU. About 50 participants attended the seminar online and as well as at the seminar venue in FTU.

STUDENTS FROM RITSUMEIKAN UNIVERSITY EXPLORE THE LEGAL PLURALISM AND MULTI-CULTURISM OF MALAYSIA

Gombak, 19 February 2024. In a post-pandemic revival of the mobility programme between Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, eleven students and two Professors of Ritsumeikan University, participate in an educational visit to Malaysia between 18th February to 21st February to see for themselves and to experience the legal pluralism and multi-culturalism in Malaysia.

IIUM MOOTERS EXCEL IN PHILIP C. JESSUP INTERNATIONAL LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION (NATIONAL ROUND) 2024

Shah Alam, 4th March 2024. In a remarkable display of legal articulation, the International Islamic University Malaysia’s (IIUM) mooting team clinched the first runner-up position in the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (National Round) held in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). The competition witnessed fierce competition from prominent law schools across the nation, culminating in a thrilling final round encounter between IIUM and UKM.

AIKOL DISCUSSES RESEARCH COLLABORATION WITH THE LAW FACULTY OF UNSOED

As a follow-up to the Letter of Intent signed by both parties on 19 December 2023, Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AlKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) continues the discussion with Prof Muhammad Fauzan, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED) to optimise the expertise found from the two faculties.

IIUM MOOT TEAMS TO REPRESENT MALAYSIA IN THE ELIMINATION ROUNDS OF THE AIAC ASIA PACIFIC VIS PRE-MOOT 2024

Gombak. 7 February 2024. Two IIUM Moot Teams successfully became two of the top 64 teams after competing against other universities during the four-day general rounds of the AIAC Asia Pacific Vis Pre-Moot 2024 jointly organised by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Kuala Lumpur and Asia Pacific Vis Pre-Moot from 1st – 4th February 2024. This competition is organised in conjunction with the celebrated and renowned international arbitration moot, Willem C Vis Arbitration Moot Competition which will be held annually in Hong Kong or Vienna, Austria.

AIKOL COLLABORATES WITH IPSOM AND MAPO TO IMPROVE INTER-AGENCY COOPERATION TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Gombak, 10 Januari 2024. Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia, is leading a research project on inter-agency cooperation in tackling human trafficking in Malaysia. The project is a collaboration with the Institute of Public Security of Malaysia (IPSOM) and the National Strategic Office Council for Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (NSO MAPO).
