THE CASE OF MALAYSIA AND TURKIYE SHARI’AH GOVERNANCE SYSTEMS IN ISLAMIC FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Gombak, 27 December 2024. Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University collaborate in organising a webinar on Shari’ah Governance Systems in Islamic Financial Institutions: The Case of Malaysia and Turkiye.

Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of AIKOL and Assoc Prof Zeynep Hafsa, the Vice Head of the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, deliver the welcoming remarks for the event. Both of them emphasise the important role of Islamic finance in governance, sustainability, economic justice, and financial inclusion. They also pray that the partnership between the two institutions will strengthen and more research activities could be conducted between the scholars of both institutions.

Prof Dr Servet Bayindir from the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University and Asst Prof Dr Uzaimah binti Ibrahim, the Head of Islamic Law Department, AIKOL provide the governance practices and challenges of Islamic finance in Turkiye and Malaysia.
