
Gombak, 28 July 2025 — The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), successfully conducted the AIKOL Ibadah Camp 2025 under the theme “Islamic Civilisation as Saviour of Mankind: How to Reconstruct It”. The one-day programme took place at the IIUM Library Auditorium and brought together students and faculty for a day of spiritual enrichment and intellectual engagement.

The camp was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi, Dean of AIKOL, followed by a Tajweed session led by Dr. Mohamed Rashid Bin Ab Razak (AIKOL), and a Tafsir session by Dr. Mohammed R. M. Elshobake (AIKOL).

Among the highlights were two impactful lectures. The first, delivered by Prof. Dr. Akmal Khuzairy Abd. Rahman (IRKHS), focused on overcoming ethical challenges through education. The second lecture titled “Malaise of the Ummah” was presented by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Hamidon Bin Abd Hamid, Director of CENTRIS, who offered critical insights into contemporary struggles within the Muslim world.
The afternoon session featured a dynamic panel discussion titled “Islamic Civilisation: Core Foundations, Pillars & Enduring Values”, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Yazid Bin Zul Kepli (AIKOL). The panel included:
- Dr. Usman Jaffer (IRKHS) on Justice as Pillar of Islamic Society
- Prof. Dr. Aiman @ Nariman Mohd. Sulaiman (AIKOL) on Integrity & Moral Excellence
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Hisham Mohd Kamal (AIKOL) on Sahifah Al-Madinah as the First Constitution of Islamic Civilisation
The AIKOL Ibadah Camp 2025 not only provided a platform for spiritual reflection and academic discourse but also reaffirmed the Kulliyyah’s mission to nurture holistic individuals rooted in Islamic values and equipped to tackle global challenges. By revisiting the foundational principles of Islamic civilisation, participants were encouraged to reimagine its relevance in addressing contemporary issues faced by humanity. The event served as a timely reminder that the integration of knowledge, ethics, and faith remains central to the university’s vision and the development of future leaders who aspire to uphold justice, integrity, and compassion in their respective fields.
