Kuala Lumpur, 13th-16th November 2025 – Complementing the rigorous academic schedule, the Student Exchange Programme between AIKOL and Chiang Mai University (CMU) featured an extensive itinerary of cultural and judicial tours designed to immerse the CMU delegation in Malaysia’s rich, multicultural fabric and operational legal environment.
The tours spanned educational, historical, and judicial landmarks, offering diverse insights into Malaysian society, government, and arts. Key visits included:
- Judicial Observation & Intellectual Visit (Friday): The day began with a crucial visit to the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex (Jalan Duta), offering students a direct opportunity to observe court proceedings and gain practical insight into the Malaysian judicial system. This important field trip was successfully led by Miss Siti Aishah Aslah. Following the court observation, the delegation visited the ISTAC Campus (International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization), providing valuable exposure to IIUM’s broader intellectual and civilizational mission.
- Kuala Lumpur Educational Tour: Visiting Istana Budaya, the National Library, and the historical Masjid Negara.
- Cultural & Heritage Visit: Exploring the vibrant heart of the city at Pasar Seni and Petaling Street, including a visit to the iconic Masjid Jamek.
- KL Night Tour: Taking in the spectacle of the city’s illuminated landmarks, including the iconic KLCC and the Saloma Bridge.
As noted in the welcoming remarks, the programme aims to cultivate understanding, mutual respect, and global-mindedness. The successful execution of this diverse programme, spearheaded by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nasarudin Bin Abdul Rahman, Programme Director, ensures that the partnership between AIKOL and the Faculty of Law, CMU, is strengthened through lasting academic cooperation and genuine cross-cultural friendships.
