On the 20th of January 2024, a significant achievement unfolded as Section 826 of Year 3 Nursing students, guided by Dr. Thandar Soe @ Sumaiyah Jamaludin, and Section 818 led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Mariam Muda proudly received the Silver Award during the 4th University in Action (UIA) Symposium (IIUM Kuantan) at the Grand Hall, Office of the Campus Director, IIUM Kuantan. Their remarkable community project, titled “Saving Lives in Emergency Situations,” and “Promoting Breastfeeding Practice” garnered recognition for its impactful contributions. 

The symposium marked the culmination of IIUM’s collective efforts, involving 165 voluntary instructors, 3,389 students from all kulliyyahs, and an impressive 159 community projects in 154 locations nationwide. Notably, the event witnessed the launch of the first book of the Usrah in Action Project, titled “Agents of Change Towards Sustainability (ACTS).” This groundbreaking book, inclusive of contributions from the KON community and produced by the Sejahtera Office, IIUM, signifies a momentous step towards promoting positive change and sustainability.
