Overview

Kulliyyah of Nursing (KON) was established in 2004 and is located at Bandar Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang. The kulliyyah was founded in response to increasing recognition of the need for Malaysian nurses to have a sound academic foundation upon which to base their clinical practice. It is the first nursing programme given faculty status in Malaysia.

Kulliyyah of Nursing is now in its 19th year of operation since its official establishment in 2004. It consists of five departments with a strength of 55 academic staff, twelve clinical staff and ten administrative staff. Currently, the Kulliyyah has 428 undergraduate students and 83 postgraduate students.

Since its beginning, the Kulliyyah offers its four-year undergraduate programme, which leads to the award of the degree, Bachelor of Nursing (Honours). The Kulliyyah first offered this undergraduate programme at the beginning of the 2004/2005 academic calendar with 12 students. At the present, apart from the undergraduate programme, Kulliyyah also offered various postgraduate programmes including Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, Master in Nursing Science, Master of Advanced Practices of various specialties and others.
