From 11th to 18th August 2024, the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM, participated in the International Postgraduate Outbound Mobility Programme at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). Led by Prof. Dr. Salizar Mohamed Ludin, the Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Responsible Research & Innovation), the delegation included Dr. Noor Azizah Mohd Ali, Dr. Nurul’Ain Ahayalimudin, Dr. Ashikin Atan, Dr. Rosnani Sarkarsi, including four postgraduate students; Nurul Ezam Asri Hasmat, Sarah Shakina Suhaimey, Siti Nur Hidayah Mohd Safli, and Aida Juliana Mohamad Amyah.
During the week-long programme, the delegation visited various healthcare and cultural facilities, including PUSKESMAS Bambanglipuro, POSYANDU Anggraeni, and the historic Candi Borobudur. They also explored UMY’s Mini Hospital CSC facilities, enhancing their understanding of healthcare systems and education in Indonesia.
The postgraduate students had the opportunity to present their research papers during the one-day International Research Day, gaining invaluable feedback and expanding their academic connections. Additionally, Dr. Noor Azizah Mohd Ali and Prof. Dr. Salizar Mohamed Ludin delivered public lectures to the UMY community. The academic exchange was further enriched by a lecture on Bibliometric Analysis, presented by UMY lecturer Mr. Misran.
This programme not only provided significant exposure to international healthcare practices but also expanded opportunities for collaboration in research and education. The postgraduate students and lecturers alike benefitted immensely, and KON looks forward to future engagements with UMY. The programme has fostered stronger ties between the two institutions, creating a solid foundation for continued international collaboration.
