GOMBAK, 6 January 2026 – The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), through the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and the AIKOL Alumni Wing (AAW), successfully held the Inaugural Distinguished Alumni Talk Series today at the Senate Hall, IIUM Gombak Campus. The prestigious event marked a significant milestone in strengthening engagement between the University and its distinguished alumni.
The programme was graced by the Guest of Honour, YBhg. Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki bin Mokhtar, Attorney General of Malaysia, who delivered the Distinguished Alumni Talk. His presence underscored the importance of alumni contributions in shaping legal thought, governance, and national development.
The event commenced with the arrival of key university leaders, including YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, Rector of IIUM, and YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, President of IIUM. The Guest of Honour arrived shortly thereafter to a warm reception by university officials, alumni, staff, and students.
In his welcoming remarks, the Rector of IIUM highlighted the significance of the Distinguished Alumni Talk Series as a platform to inspire the IIUM community through the experiences and insights of alumni who have excelled in their respective fields. This was followed by speeches from YBhg. Datuk Lukman Sheriff Alias, representing the AIKOL Alumni Wing, and YBhg. Tan Sri Sharizat Abdul Jalil of the Yayasan Tan Sri Professor Ahmad Ibrahim (YTSPAI), both of whom emphasised the role of alumni engagement in nurturing future legal professionals.
The Distinguished Alumni Talk by Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki focused on his professional journey, reflections on the legal profession, and the evolving role of the law in upholding justice, integrity, and public trust. His address resonated strongly with attendees, offering valuable perspectives on leadership, ethical responsibility, and service to the nation.
The programme continued with a lively Question and Answer and Interactive Dialogue Session, allowing participants to engage directly with the Attorney General on contemporary legal issues and career development. The event concluded with a Token of Appreciation and Group Photo Session, followed by refreshments and networking.
