GOMBAK, 3 February 2026 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), had the honour of welcoming a distinguished academic delegation from Universitas Islam As’adiyah, Sengkang, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, in a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and institutional ties.
The delegation from Universitas Islam As’adiyah was led by senior university leaders, namely Dr. Drs. Ahmad Muktamar B, M.A., M.M., Vice Rector I; Dr. Ekawati, Vice Rector II; Ahmad Ridha Jafar, S.H., M.H., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law; and Dr. Muhsyanur, Head of the Research Institute.
The visiting delegation was warmly received by AIKOL representatives led by Professor Dr. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi, Dean of AIKOL, alongside Professor Dr. Majdah Zawawi, Deputy Dean (Academic and Internationalisation), Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Yazid Bin Zul Kepli, Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement), and Professor Dr. Noriah, Head of Research.
During the visit, both institutions engaged in constructive discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including academic exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, and opportunities for scholarly cooperation in the fields of law and Shariah. The meeting also provided a platform for sharing institutional experiences and exploring strategies to enhance cross-border academic partnerships.
The visit reflects AIKOL’s continued commitment to internationalisation and academic networking, in line with IIUM’s vision of fostering global scholarly engagement and strengthening ties with reputable institutions in the region. AIKOL looks forward to future collaborations with Universitas Islam As’adiyah that will contribute to the advancement of legal and Islamic studies.
