The session, held at the AIKOL Lecture Theatre B, explored the timely and thought-provoking topic: “The AG–Public Prosecutor: What Malaysia’s Proposed Reform Means for the Rule of Law.” The discussion came amid growing national attention on the potential separation of powers between the Attorney General and the Public Prosecutor—an issue central to strengthening institutional integrity and public confidence in the justice system.

The session featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khairil Azmin bin Mokhtar as the guest speaker, who provided expert insights into the constitutional, legal, and practical implications of the proposed reforms. The session was moderated by Adrian Mikael bin Alwi, who guided the discussion and facilitated active engagement with the audience.

Designed to create a relaxed yet intellectually stimulating environment, LexTalk continued its tradition of encouraging meaningful dialogue among law students. Participants had the opportunity not only to deepen their understanding of ongoing legal developments but also to critically reflect on whether Malaysia was ready for such transformative changes.

The event saw encouraging participation from students eager to engage in contemporary legal discourse. In light of ongoing discussions on legal reform under the broader aspirations of Malaysia Madani, initiatives like LexTalk played a vital role in nurturing informed, critical, and future-ready legal professionals.
