KUALA LUMPUR, 10 May 2026 — The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) continues to make the nation proud as its Mediation Team emerged as the Champion of the ALSA Malaysia Mediation Competition 2026, held at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
The winning team consisted of Ku Muhammad Hafiz bin Ku Husni, Nur Alia Nafisa binti Mohamad Fadzli, Nur Khadija Safiyya binti Faizal Sazali, and Nurul Safiyyah binti Muhammad Syamsuri. Their outstanding performance throughout the competition demonstrated exceptional advocacy, negotiation, and mediation skills.
Adding to the team’s remarkable success, Nur Alia Nafisa binti Mohamad Fadzli was awarded the Best Oralist title for the final round in recognition of her excellent presentation and communication skills during the competition.
The achievement was also made possible through the dedication and hard work of the team’s researchers, namely Saqina Qamilia binte Suwandi, Ayesha binti Mohd Faizal, and Syarah Liyana binti Saiful Anuar, who played an important role in supporting the team’s preparation and research efforts.
The Kulliyyah further extended its deepest appreciation to the team’s coaches, alumnus Br. Muhammad Ihsan Husaini bin Rosli and Sr. Aeshah Adlina binti A. Karim, for their guidance, commitment, and continuous mentorship throughout the competition. Special recognition was also given to Academic Trainee, Br. Asyraf Hakimi Zaid, for his unwavering support and assistance during the team’s preparation journey.
Following their impressive victory at the national level, the IIUM Mediation Team will proudly represent Malaysia at the international round of the competition, which will be held in Shenzhen, China from 6 to 8 June 2026.
This accomplishment reflects IIUM’s continued excellence in advocacy and alternative dispute resolution, while further strengthening the university’s reputation for producing talented, competent, and globally competitive law students.
