AIKOL RESEARCHERS PRODUCE A REPORT FOR SUBMISSION TO THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT OF EVIDENCE OF ATROCITY CRIMES COMMITTED IN THE STATE OF PALESTINE

Gombak, 22 January 2025.  Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (AIKOL IIUM) together with MyAqsa Foundation and The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Malaysia represented by His Excellency Walid Abu Ali, work together to produce a report for the submission of evidence of atrocity crimes committed in the State of Palestine to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

MyAqsa Foundation had given support in the form of a research grant to five academicians from AIKOL IIUM in conducting research to collect and analyse the material and significant information, including evidence, concerning genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression committed in the State of Palestine.

The researchers are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Kamal, Prof. Farid Sufian Shuaib, Prof. Abdul Ghafur Hamid, Prof. Mohammad Naqib Eishan Jan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed R.M. Elshobake. Three students from the faculty assist them.

The research focused on collecting and analysing significant information, including evidence, concerning genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli Head of State, ministers and military officers. The final list in the Report identifies 110 individuals as the perpetrators of the crimes. The categories of crimes identified as a result of the research and analysis are genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. For each of the crimes, evidence was analysed carefully to ensure its elements were proven, including the genocidal intent for that crime.

The research aimed to ensure justice is upheld for the people of Palestine who have been victims of atrocities.

According to Bro Suwardi Yaacob, the Chairman of MyAqsa Foundation, the Foundation will submit the evidence collected to the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC for further action. The submission of the evidence shows the firm commitment of Malaysia, together with the international community, in protecting universal human rights and justice for the oppressed people.
