AIKOL HOLDS INSPIRING MENTAL HEALTH TALK: “THE QUIET CRY: LISTENING WITH LOVE, HEALING WITH PRESENCE”

Gombak, 8 October 2025 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), in collaboration with the IIUM Law Students’ Society (LAWSOC), successfully organised a heartfelt and inspiring talk on mental health titled “The Quiet Cry: Listening with Love, Healing with Presence.” The event attracting a large number of students and staff who came together to reflect on the importance of mental well-being.

The session featured three distinguished speakers who shared their unique perspectives on mental health and emotional resilience. Prof. Dr. Noriah Ramli opened the discussion by providing an academic and compassionate insight into the importance of awareness and support systems within the university community. YB Syed Saddiq followed with a deeply personal and motivational address, highlighting the significance of empathy, open conversations, and systemic change to ensure better mental health support for youth. Meanwhile, Benjamin Chay offered a reflective and honest sharing on resilience and healing, encouraging the audience to practice genuine listening and compassion toward those experiencing silent struggles.

Throughout the evening, the speakers’ messages resonated strongly with the audience, reminding everyone of the power of presence, understanding, and love in the journey toward emotional healing. The talk also underscored the importance of fostering a caring and inclusive environment in line with AIKOL’s Tawhidic Epistemology framework, which integrates spiritual, emotional, and intellectual well-being.

The event concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants expressed their gratitude for the speakers’ authenticity and the university’s efforts in addressing mental health issues openly and empathetically. The AIKOL Talk on Mental Health not only served as a platform for dialogue but also reinforced the Kulliyyah’s ongoing commitment to nurturing holistic, balanced, and emotionally aware individuals.
