AIKOL HOSTS BENCHMARKING VISIT FROM INDONESIA MUHAMMADIYAH ALLIANCE CAMPUS

Gombak, 26 August 2025 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), welcomed the Forum of Deans and Heads of Schools of Laws (FORDEK FH) from the Indonesia Muhammadiyah Alliance Campus for a benchmarking visit aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in legal education.

Held at the Al-Nawawi Conference Room, Level 4, AIKOL Building, the programme commenced with the arrival of both delegations, followed by opening greetings, a recitation of do’a, and the screening of AIKOL’s corporate video.

Dean of AIKOL, Prof. Dr. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi, delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the significance of regional partnerships in advancing legal education. “This benchmarking visit is not merely a tour, it is a dialogue between legal scholars and educators who share a vision of upholding justice, ethics, and intellectual excellence,” she said.

The Head of Delegation for FORDEK FH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faisal, S.H. M. Hum, also expressed appreciation for the collaboration and emphasized the value of mutual learning between institutions.

Key sessions included discussions on Benchmarking of Law and Higher Education between FH PTM and AIKOL and Strategic Issues in Legal Development in Malaysia, followed by the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) to formalize future cooperation.

The programme concluded with a photography session, light refreshments, and networking, reinforcing the strong ties between the two academic communities. This visit reflects AIKOL’s commitment to championing just laws and harmonising Shariah and civil legal systems, in line with its mission to nurture holistic legal scholars for the benefit of society.
