Gombak, 6 December 2025 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) successfully hosted its community engagement programme, Jalinan Mahabbah 2.0, highlighted the Kulliyyah’s commitment to social outreach and provided practical experience for law students.
Organized by the IIUM Legal Aid Club, Jalinan Mahabbah 2.0 centered on offering essential pro-bono services to members of the local community. The core activity involved consultation sessions led by AIKOL lecturers and guided law students, focusing on critical legal matters such as the Distribution of Muslim Estates (Faraid) and general legal issues. These sessions offered attendees accessible guidance on often-complex legal processes, directly addressing the needs of underserved communities.
The programme was a result of strong collaboration with external partners, including Pertubuhan Ikram Wangsa Maju, Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Islam Malaysia, and the Huffaz Sejahtera Leadership Programme (HSLP). This partnership allowed the event to adopt a holistic approach by extending its services beyond law. Participants were also able to access important Basic Health Screening and engage with an informative Mental Health Awareness Exhibition.
A key objective of the Jalinan Mahabbah series is to provide experiential learning for AIKOL students. By interacting directly with the public on real-life legal issues, students were able to translate their academic knowledge into practical counselling skills, reinforcing the university’s ethos of integrating knowledge with social responsibility.
The strong turnout from the public affirmed the demand for integrated legal and wellness outreach programmes. The Kulliyyah looks forward to building on the success of Jalinan Mahabbah 2.0 to further strengthen its ties with the community and enhance the practical training opportunities for its students.
