AIKOL STRENGTHENS ENGAGEMENT WITH LPQB IN COURTESY VISIT

Putrajaya, 2 October 2025 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), paid a courtesy visit to the Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB) to strengthen collaboration on matters concerning legal education and professional training.

The AIKOL delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi, Dean of AIKOL, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Majdah Zawawi, Dr. Zati Ilham Abdul Manaf, and Dr. Sahida Othman.

They were warmly welcomed by LPQB representatives: YBrs. Puan Nik Rosmilawati binti Nik Yusoff, Director of the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) Examinations; Encik Tuan Syakeer bin Tuan Besar, Chief Assistant Director; Encik Haris bin Abu Bakar, Assistant Director, Examination Management; and Puan Hasnorkhaidiah binti Jamil Sulong, Assistant Director, Accreditation and Recognition.

The visit provided a platform for meaningful discussions on the alignment of academic training with professional requirements, the pathways of law graduates towards admission to the Malaysian Bar, and continuous curriculum enhancement to meet the evolving demands of the legal profession.

Both sides acknowledged the importance of fostering closer cooperation between academic institutions and professional bodies to ensure that law graduates are not only well-prepared for the profession but also uphold the values of justice, integrity, and excellence.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening engagement between AIKOL and LPQB, paving the way for future collaborations to further advance the standards of legal education and professional qualification in Malaysia.
