
Gombak, 9 October 2025 – The Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), International Islamic University Malaysia, successfully held its Townhall Assembly for Semester 1, 2025/2026 at the Main Hall, International Convention Centre (ICC). The event brought together students, lecturers, and staff in an engaging session filled with reflection, recognition, and meaningful discourse.
The townhall began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Ida Madieha Abdul Ghani Azmi, Dean of AIKOL, welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of belonging, academic excellence, and shared responsibility within the AIKOL community.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of Dean’s List Certificates to outstanding students, celebrating their dedication and perseverance throughout the previous semester.
The program continued with a series of informative sessions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Yazid Zul Kepli, Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement), spoke on “Introduction to Kulliyyah & Leadership” and Disciplinary Matters, reminding students of their roles as ambassadors of IIUM’s values.

An enlightening segment on the “Responsibility of AI” was then delivered by Prof. Ts. Dr. Mira Kartini, Director of CPD, highlighting the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence and its relevance to future legal practice.
The evening concluded with a Solidarity Segment led by Dr. Mohammed R.M. Elshobake and the President of LAWSOC 2024/2025, where the AIKOL community reaffirmed its commitment and du’a for Palestine through the AIKOL Solidarity Pledge.

The program ended with light refreshments, allowing participants to network and strengthen camaraderie within the Kulliyyah.The AIKOL Townhall continues to serve as an important platform for open dialogue, celebration of student achievement, and reinforcement of AIKOL’s mission in nurturing holistic, ethical, and socially responsible legal professionals.
