Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws expresses his admiration to the swiftness of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University Malaysia Sabah in gaining ground as an established faculty in spite of its young age. Thus, AIKOL does not hesitate in proposing for collaboration to deliver the Postgraduate Diploma in Shariah Legal Practice (DSLP) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Administration of Islamic Judiciary (DAIJ) for enthusiastic Shariah professionals in Sabah.

Dato’ Dr Jelani bin Hamdan in welcoming Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of AIKOL and other delegates, reminisces his student days in Petaling Jaya and emphasises the contribution of the university to the development of students as Khalifah.

Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, as the Chairman of the Law Dean’s Council for Public Universities discusses with Assoc Prof Dr Jady @ Zaidi Hassim, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia accompanied by En Raja Noor Azri Raja Noor Afandi on the opportunities to improve financial sustainability using endowment’s instruments.

Dr Jady highlights the advantages of forming an endowment for law faculties – an idea welcomes by Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib. This idea would require more examination and refinement which will be done by the law schools.

Gombak, 8 November 2023. AIKOL welcomes Shaik Faridhudheen Anverdeen, the Chief Executive Officer who leads the delegation from the International Islamic College (IIC). Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of AIKOL in welcoming the delegation agrees for both parties to explore collaboration in improving the delivery of teaching and learning to students.

As institutes of higher learning, both parties affirm their commitment to work together for the betterment of the students.

Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib explains to colleagues and students at the Faculty of Law, University of Hang Tuah, Surabaya, Indonesia that the position of Islamic law in Malaysia could be best understood by appreciating the legal history and the formation of the Federation of Malaya and Malaysia based on the Federal Constitution.

Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib in delivering a Guest Lecture entitled “Islamic Law in Malaysia” at the Faculty of Law, University of Hang Tuah, Surabaya, Indonesia explains that as a federation, the Federal Constitution provides the competency to enact on Islamic law to States, rather than the Federation.
