A COMPREHENSIVE ACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE IS URGENTLY REQUIRED, APART FROM PRUDENT AND ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING AND BEHAVIOUR, TO MITIGATE AND TO ADAPT TO CLIMATE CHANGE
Gombak, 28 September 2022. The meeting between the Climate Change Policy and Law Centre (CCPL Centre), Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council concludes that the nation requires urgent actions to mitigate and to adapt to climate change. The collaboration between the CCPL Centre and the Committee could be a catalyst, be it small, in such an effort.
Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws and a member of the CCPL Centre in welcoming Mr Roger Chan Weng Keng, the Chairman of the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council and his team points that the window for mitigation and adaptation to climate change is rapidly closing. He welcomes serious discussion between the Kulliyyah and the Centre with the Committee to help the nation to take the necessary action.
