Girona, Spain, 2 June 2022. The team of the Climate Change Policy and Law Centre (CCPLC) under the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) attended a capacity building series at the University of Girona, Spain. The study visit is funded under the Erasmus+ towards the establishment of the CCPLC. The coordinator of the Centre is Assoc Prof Dr Maizatun Mustafa.
The participant in the study visit agrees that universities have a role to play to provide continuing education to the masses and to the specific segments of the community including the professional and the industry. These services could be carried out by special vehicle under the university such as a foundation or a special arm that could be more open, flexible, agile and pro-active than a faculty.
Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of AIKOL commented that it is important for such a foundation to work closely with the faculty in the development of the programmes and in providing resource persons and instructors.
Ms Irene Compte, the Director of the Foundation Universitat de Girona: Innovació i Formació shares with the team the objective and the work of the foundation in continuing education and in providing services to the industry
Under Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, the special arm is Harun M. Hashim Law Centre that provide the co-sharing facilities to the CCPLC.
CCPLC is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
