Master in Library and Information Science is offered by the Department of Library and Information Science, KICT.
The Department of Library & Information Science was established in 1992 offering the Master in Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree to both full-time and part-time students. In the initial period, the programme is meant to upgrade the competency of existing librarians, while at the same time producing a new breed of competent informational professionals imbued with Islamic values to meet the diverse needs and demands of the job market.
Our Masters programs are designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills for diverse career opportunities. Graduates can pursue roles as academicians, librarians, digital curators, data managers, research analysts, and knowledge specialists in universities, corporations, government agencies, and research institutions.

Enrolling in the MLIB through a mixed-mode program offers a wellrounded education that combines practical and research-based learning. This empowers students to become skilled professionals and contributors to the evolving landscape of library and information science.
This program is offered via full time and also part time mode. The full time programme would normally require two (2) years (4 semesters) study duration and the maximum duration allowed is three (3) years (6 semesters).
The part time programme would normally require four (4) years (8 semesters). The maximum period allowed for the completion of the program is 5 years (10 semesters).
