As part of the IIUM Rector’s Roadshow on Strategic Planning 2025–2026, the Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, continued his campus tour with a visit to the Kulliyyah of Nursing at IIUM Kuantan. The visit, held from 8.30 AM to 10.30 AM, allowed members of KON to directly engage with the Rector and members of the University Management Committee (UMC) in a special session focused on strategic direction and academic development.
Upon arrival at the Kulliyyah, the Rector and his accompanying delegation were welcomed warmly by the KON community. A photo session was held at the foyer area to commemorate the visit, symbolising the significance of this engagement in the history of the Kulliyyah. The Rector was accompanied by several senior university leaders, including Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin (Deputy Rector, Student Development and Community Engagement), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Aslam Mohamed Haneef (Deputy Rector, Research, Innovation and Development), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Hafiz Bin Zulkifly (Campus Director, IIUM Kuantan), Mr. Mohd Khairulzain Bin Abdul Rahman (Office of the Campus Director), and other members of the UMC.













The event began with opening remarks by Dr. Rashidah Mohd Yusoff as the chairperson, followed by a du’a recitation by Dr. Mohamad Firdaus Mohamad Ismail. A special presentation was then delivered by the Dean of Kulliyyah of Nursing, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamil Che Hasan, highlighting the achievements, direction, and strategic aspirations of KON in alignment with IIUM’s long-term goals.
In his keynote address, Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar outlined the importance of embedding Tawhidic Epistemology into all disciplines, including nursing, and provided a recap of its relevance in the university’s mission. He also took the opportunity to extend his warm wishes in conjunction with the Kulliyyah’s 21st anniversary, to be celebrated on 15th June 2025.
The engagement, conducted in a hybrid format, featured dynamic and open discussions between the Rector, deputy rectors, UMC members, and KON staff. Topics covered ranged from academic strategies, student development, postgraduate and research matters to community engagement, reflecting a shared commitment towards excellence and innovation. KON expressed its deep appreciation for the Rector’s visit and the meaningful dialogue that took place. The Kulliyyah looks forward to continuously upholding the nursing profession and advancing academic excellence in line with the university’s Tawhidic values and the national aspiration of Malaysia MADANI.
