AIKOL INTENDS TO EXPAND THEIR SIMULATED LAW FIRM’S METHOD AS FOUND IN UITM

Shah Alam, 20 October 2022. Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws continues to cement closer collaboration with other law schools. After visiting law schools in University Malaya and University Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2019 before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Kulliyyah resumes visits to other law schools starting with the Faculty of Law, UiTM to exchange ideas on alumni relations management, legal aids services and implementation of simulated law firm’s method for the final year courses.

THE THIRD COURSE FOR THE PUBLIC STUDY PROGRAMMES IN SHARIAH AND LAW IN COLLABORATION WITH MASJID AL-SYAKIRIN GOMBAK

Gombak, 15 October 2022. Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) works together with Masjid Al-Syakirin, Gombak in offering the “Public Study Programmes in Shariah and Law” (Program Pengajian Umum Syariah dan Undang-Undang) to the public. In this collaboration, AIKOL provides the curriculum and instructors, and the mosque provides the venue and other facilities.

NEW STUDENTS OF AHMAD IBRAHIM KULLIYYAH OF LAWS ARE EXCITED TO BE ON CAMPUS

Gombak, 5 October 2022. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, new students of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws – in starting in Semester 1 Sessions 2020/2021 – could only attend their orientation programmes online. With the start of Semester 1 2022/2023, new students register in-person at the Gombak campus to start the journey of another phase of their life.
Professor Farid Sufian Shuaib in welcoming the new students congratulates them for successfully securing a place at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL). The Dean shares with the students the vision of AIKOL to work towards just laws and just legal system through the harmonisation of Shariah and law and championed by balanced graduates.
Professor Farid Sufian Shuaib also shares the vision of harmonised legal system of the founding father of the Kulliyyah, Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim, his akhlaq and his integrity that all should seek to emulate.
With the ability to conduct teaching and learning in-person, the Dean expresses his hope that a more enriching interaction between students and between students and lecturers will flourish and the students will readily embrace the shared vision of the Kulliyyah.
The Kulliyyah Taaruf programme is led by Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Yazid Zul Kepli, the Deputy Dean (Student Development and Community Engagement) together with Dr Wan Mohd Zulhafiz Wan Zahari, the Deputy Dean (Academic and Internationalisation). The Law Students’ Society assists in orgainising of the programme.

JALINAN MAHABAH AT KG BATU MUDA AS THE SECOND OUTREACH ACTIVITY UNDER THE LEGAL AID SERVICES OF AHMAD IBRAHIM KULLIYYAH OF LAWS

Gombak, 1 October 2022. With the tagline Service from the Heart, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) through its IIUM Legal Aid Services and IIUM Legal Aid Club reaches out to the community at Kg Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur. Jalinan Mahabbah 2.0 2022, is an on-going community project by AIKOL to create legal awareness among the community and provide free legal assistance to those in need.

THE SECOND TRAINING SESSION IN 2022 ON REGULATIONS, ETHICS AND INTEGRITY FOR OFFICERS FROM THE PUBLIC SERVICE

Gombak, 4 October 2022. Harun M. Hashim Law Centre, a strategic business unit under Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, trains civil service officers on regulations, ethics and integrity in four-day workshop for a second group of officers. This is the fourth series of collaboration between the Centre and the Malaysian Department of Public Service in providing competency building programmes to the officers.
Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, the Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia delivers the premier slot on Sejahtera Leadership. He highlights the different between doing things right and doing the right things. He also underlines the significant differences between ‘leaders’ and ‘pemimpin’.

LAW FACULTIES FROM UM, IIUM, UiTM, UKM, UUM, UniSZA and USIM COLLABORATE TO IMPROVE THE LEGAL AID SERVICES AND THE CLINICAL LEGAL EDUCATION COURSE

Petaling Jaya, 4 October 2022. The law schools from UM, IIUM, UiTM, UKM, UniSZA and USIM discusses the offering of legal aid services and the clinical legal education course by the public universities. The Faculty of Law, University of Malaya organises the sharing session under the auspices of Majlis Dekan Undang-Undang.

A COMPREHENSIVE ACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE IS URGENTLY REQUIRED, APART FROM PRUDENT AND ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING AND BEHAVIOUR, TO MITIGATE AND TO ADAPT TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Gombak, 28 September 2022. The meeting between the Climate Change Policy and Law Centre (CCPL Centre), Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council concludes that the nation requires urgent actions to mitigate and to adapt to climate change. The collaboration between the CCPL Centre and the Committee could be a catalyst, be it small, in such an effort.
Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws and a member of the CCPL Centre in welcoming Mr Roger Chan Weng Keng, the Chairman of the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council and his team points that the window for mitigation and adaptation to climate change is rapidly closing. He welcomes serious discussion between the Kulliyyah and the Centre with the Committee to help the nation to take the necessary action.
