Enhancing Assessment Security: Successful SEB Plugin Training for iTaLeem

On August 11, 2026, a comprehensive virtual training session on the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) Plugin for the iTaLeem platform was successfully held via Zoom. The session was expertly conducted by Dr. Wirawani Binti Kamarulzaman, Deputy Director of the Centre for Professional Development (CPD). Aimed at academic and support staff, the training provided essential practical skills to effectively implement the SEB plugin. This initiative reflects the institution's commitment to equipping educators with the best practices needed to maintain a secure, controlled, and reliable online assessment environment for all our students.

Benchmarking ODL Practices at UMPSA’s FLEXMC

On 17 July 2026, a delegation from IIUM’s Kulliyyah of Nursing, led by Dr. Rashidah Mohd Yusoff, visited UMPSA’s FLEXMC to benchmark Open and Distance Learning (ODL) practices. We extend our deepest gratitude to FLEXMC Director, Ts. Dr. Danakorn Nincarean, for the exceptional hospitality and sharing of facilities like iStudio. A special appreciation goes to AP Dr. Awanis Binti Romli for her invaluable insights into digital education transformation. We highly value UMPSA’s generous guidance and excellent accommodation, which will greatly inspire our future ODL implementations at the Kulliyyah. Thank you!

ODL Revenue Pioneer Award at NFSM 2024 & 2025

On 14th July 2026, the NFSM 2024 & 2025 Appreciation Hi-Tea celebrated the IIUM community's dedication to advancing the university's financial sustainability journey. During the event, the Kulliyyah of Nursing proudly received the ODL Revenue Pioneer Award, accepted on our behalf by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ashikin Atan, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate, Research and Innovation. As the first Kulliyyah to offer an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programme at IIUM, we are immensely honoured. We hope this milestone inspires the rapid growth and expansion of ODL initiatives across the university.

One-Day Workshop on the Development of SIM

The Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM, in collaboration with the Centre for Professional Development (CPD), successfully organised a One-Day Workshop on the Development of Self-Instructional Material (SIM) for the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) ODL Programme. The session was led by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Awanis Romli, an expert from UMPSA, and brought together over 60 academicians from the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM Kuantan, and IIUM Gombak. The workshop enhanced participants’ competencies in producing effective, learner-centred ODL materials.

i-TaLeEm Hands-on Training Session

The Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM successfully held an i-TaLeEm hands-on session led by Ts. Dr. Mohd Hamzah Mohd Nasir from Kulliyyah of Science, IIUM. This training is a crucial step for lecturers to fully utilise the i-TaLeEm Learning Management System (LMS) for the upcoming Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Bachelor of Nursing curriculum launching in March 2026. The Kulliyyah is also set to expand and maximize i-TaLeEm's use for conventional students. The Kulliyyah of Nursing extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Hamzah for the invaluable session.

Benchmarking Visit to International Islamic College (IIC)

The Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM recently conducted a benchmarking visit to International Islamic College (IIC) to gain insights into the implementation and management of their Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes. During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, learn from IIC’s valuable experiences, explore their Learning Management System (LMS), and tour their well-equipped ODL Centre. We sincerely appreciate the warm hospitality extended to us and truly value the experience. We wish IIC continued growth, success, and excellence in their ODL journey.
