KON-IIUM Strengthens Academic Partnership with ITEKESMU KALBAR Through Benchmarking Visit and MoA Signing

Benchmarking visit and MoA signing between Kulliyyah of Nursing IIUM and ITEKESMU KALBAR Indonesia
Location: Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM, Kuantan, Pahang.
The Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM warmly welcomed a 65-member delegation from Institut Teknologi dan Kesehatan Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Barat (ITEKESMU KALBAR), Indonesia , led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haryanto, Rector of ITEKESMU KALBAR, for a benchmarking visit and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony held at the KON Auditorium.

Benchmarking Visit and MoA Signing

The event began with an opening session and a welcoming address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamil Che Hasan, Dean of the Kulliyyah of Nursing, who introduced the Kulliyyah’s vision and milestones in nurturing compassionate and competent nurses.

The highlight of the day was the Memorandum of Agreement signing between KON-IIUM and ITEKESMU KALBAR, symbolising a new milestone in strengthening academic and research collaboration between both institutions.

Guest Lecture and Knowledge Sharing

Following the ceremony, a guest lecture and knowledge-sharing session featured distinguished speakers from Malaysia and Indonesia, providing a platform for academic dialogue and exchange of perspectives.

The sessions covered important contemporary themes such as healthcare access, insurance systems and primary health integration, allowing participants from both institutions to share experiences and gain broader insights into healthcare delivery within different national contexts.

Exploring KON’s Academic and Clinical Facilities

The visit concluded with a tour of the Kulliyyah’s facilities, including the Academic Office, Postgraduate Rooms and Clinical Skills Centre.

The facility tour provided the visiting delegation with an opportunity to observe the academic support systems, postgraduate learning environment and clinical simulation facilities available at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, IIUM.

The benchmarking visit and MoA signing represent an important step in strengthening Malaysia–Indonesia academic cooperation, creating a platform for sustainable collaboration in nursing education, research, mobility and professional development.
