The study visit is funded under the Erasmus+ towards the establishment of the CCPLC. The coordinator of the Centre is Assoc Prof Dr Maizatun Mustafa.

The participant in the study visit agrees that universities have a role to play to provide continuing education to the masses and to the specific segments of the community including the professional and the industry. These services could be carried out by special vehicle under the university such as a foundation or a special arm that could be more open, flexible, agile and pro-active than a faculty.

The Faculty of Science in the University of Girona shares the student’s mentoring system that the faculty has implemented for several years after a less than successful manual system. Members of CCPLC shares the experience of implementing a manual hard copy folder of student’s mentoring system. Both parties agree that all-inclusive – in term of students and study period – mentoring requires the support of digital system and commitment from faculty members. Such a system should include student’s reflection.

The team from the Science and Technological Park under University of Girona explains the services of the park including providing entrepreneurship environment and internationalisation of the technology. The park shares some of the projects relating to the climate change including water purification and environmental impact assessments.

The study visit is funded under the Erasmus+ towards the development of the postgraduate curriculum on the climate change.

In the first session, Prof Dr Pepus Daunis i Estadella, the Vice-Rector (Quality and Transparency) of the University of Girona shares the importance of the institutional quality culture. During the discussion, the participants agree that it is important to ensure that views of all stakeholders are taken into account in establishing and maintaining quality. This will involve the views of the students, the industry and the academic.

Gombak, 22 May 2022. Prof Farid Sufian Shuaib, the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) witnesses the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between iWaqf (National Waqf Action Council) and an education provider to provide competency building programmes on waqf.
