Master of Science in Built Environment (M_BEN)

INTRODUCTION

Master of Science in Built Environment programme integrates Islamic values and principles into its curriculum including the courses taught and research areas. The intention of incorporating Islamic values into the programme is to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable in their field but also nurturing a person as the Khalifah first, a professional second that responsible for the environment and dimensions of the spaces they design. The programme aims to produce graduates with adequate knowledge and skills in relevant built environment fields such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning and Applied Arts and Design. Other than that, the programme offers opportunities for research, specialisation, and hands-on experience, the incorporation of Islamic built environment, the application of Islamic principles of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Hence, with these focuses, the Master of Science in Built Environment distinguishes itself apart from other institutions.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

1) Graduates will demonstrate a mastery of research skills to recommend solutions in addressing the built environment issues.
2) Graduates will exhibit a strong commitment to ethical and sustainable practices while demonstrating leadership skills within the built environment.
3) Graduates will communicate ideas and research findings using digital skills and demonstrate collaborative skills by working with professionals across disciplines in addressing built environment issues.
4) Graduates will uphold the highest Islamic principles, ethical standards and demonstrate professional managerial skills for the betterment of Ummah.
