This course has been designed to introduce students to Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Year 3. It exposes students to the basic knowledge and skills in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with primary emphasis on history taking, physical examination and investigation. The basic principles of management are also dealt with.

Master of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
The postgraduate training program Master of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kulliyyah of Medicine IIUM is designed to train trainees to practice competent clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and to qualify for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Conjoint Board Examination. For most trainees, the training program will be FOUR years in length with maximum duration of SEVEN years. Sitting the final examination with the Conjoint Board depends on satisfactory completion of each of the components within the program.

Clinical Services in SASMEC@IIUM
Outpatient Clinics
Our clinics services include Antenatal, Postnatal, Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Paediatrics Adolescence Gynae, Gynaeoncology, Fertility, Fetomaternal, Detailed Scan and Colposcopy.
Pregnancy Assessment Centre
Located next to the Emergency Department, our PAC provide screening services and admission centre for pregnancy related problems including early pregnancy problems and 3rd trimester issues.
Obstetric Ward
Located on the 3rd floor next to the General Operation Theatre. It has 25 beds consisting of 3 single ensuite bedrooms, 2 double ensuite bedrooms and 4 cubicles with 4 beds.
Gynaecology Ward
Located on the 2nd floor next to the Medical Ambulatory Care Unit. It caters for gynaecological patients and early pregnancy problems.
Delivery Suite
Located on the 3rd floor next to the Obstetric Ward, with ensuite private rooms, it can cater our deliveries and high risk observations.
Operation Theatre
Located on the 3rd floor, our O&G operative cases are done electively 3-4 days a week while emergency operations 24 hours a day.
